Down to the last drop

I learned this tip from a blogger lady. She would buy strivectin or other expensive beauty products and she said in order to not waste any, cut open the tube and close by putting the cut parts together each time until you get every bit out. You just slip the cut top part over the cut bottom part by squeezing the bottom part together a little bit. I have done this many times and often get over a week’s worth of cream that I would have tossed out had I not opened it up.

Keeping the fridge safer and cleaner

I keep a tray on the bottom shelf of my fridge. This is where all raw meat goes that needs to thaw or is bought to be cooked later. If it leaks, I just clean the tray and put it back in. No more having blood get all over the refrigerator.

Unfortunately, plastic trays that don’t have open holes for carrying handles are hard to find for a decent price. Something similar to a lunch room or an old fashioned Sonic Drive In tray is what you need. If you can’t find one like that, use anything that works for you. Here is a link to a round one what would work. You may already have something you have in mind.

You could use a Tupperware or Rubbermaid dish or anything that works for you.

Don’t over sleep

Once you turn off your alarm for the morning and get up, wait a minute and turn it back on, then it will already be set for the next morning. No more forgetting to set your alarm!

Labor and Delivery tips

When the time comes for you to head to the hospital, here are a few things to make both yours and your spouse’s stay a little easier.

Always take change for the vending machines, you will need it.

Don’t forget you will want pictures taken when you leave the hospital so pick yours and baby’s outfit out perfectly for the pictures.

Have someone bring a plastic tote or 2 and some towels to the hospital to cart home all the things you will collect at the hospital. Believe me, it’s more than you think! A plastic tote is great for taking home flowers. Just use hand towels stuff between to keep them from tipping over.

Lettuce make it last

Put paper towels in your bags of greens to soak up some of the moisture once they are open, it will help your greens last longer. If you wash bunches of greens ahead of time , wrap them in paper towels, the first of the towels will get wet from the remaining water but, add more around it those and then place in a ziplock bag and they will stay fresh and crisp but, ready to eat at a moment’s notice.

Don’t accidentally wear things too close together

Once you wear a piece of clothing but, it’s not dirty so you want to hang it up, make sure you hang each one in the front of the back in order (chose one), that way you know what the last few items you wore are and you don’t accidentally wear something two days in the same week. .

Help, I’m falling asleep and I can’t wake up!

Suck on peppermint candy and/or eat ice to help you stay awake while you’re driving.

Use peppermint lotion or just a drop of peppermint essential oil on a cloth to lay on your shoulder so you can smell it. Be careful with it because it can burn your eyes.

Cover up!

Do you have a shirt you love but, it slips just enough to show a bra strap or two? You can just wear a scarf and nobody will ever see the straps.
